On the internet, there are many websites that sell you secrets to earn a lot of money. I will tell you for free the things they tell you for money! I will explain that their story is not true and I will tell you what amount of money is feasable!

Did you ever buy the book 'how to get rich?' Was it a surprise that this book only contained the text "write a book on how to get rich"? Do you see the paralel with all those websites that promise you shiploads of money? Well, you should!

What they tell you is not true! You cannot get rich with the methods they sell you. You can earn some money with it but it's not worth paying money for it. I'll tell you those methods too and you do not have to buy my e-book or subscribe to my spam mailinglist. It's just free information! the way internet should be.

How do I know all of this? Well, I visited all those websites and spend a tremendous amount of time reading about this subject. I even bought some of those e-books and I received some from people reading this website. I'll soon add my collection of these e-books as a download to this website (soon, means really soon....!).

Sofar the intro, now the 'tricks'

Almost all (95%) of these websites pretend that they earn great amounts of money with Google Adsense and google Adwords. So I deceided to test their methods. First I will give a short introduction about Google Adsense and Google Adwords.

Google Adsense if for people who are willing to place adverticements on their websites and get paid per click. So each time a visitor of your website clicks on an Ad, you get paid! How much you get paid I will explain later. Google automatically determines the content of your website and only places relevant ads. If you want to join Adsense, you may click the following button:

Google Adwords is exactly the oposite. If you want more visitors to your website then you can pay Google for placing advertisements for your website on websites that are subscribed to Google Adsense. We call this 'advertisers'.

All these Ads are traded in an auction system. This means that advertisers determine how much money that want to pay per click and that Adsense websites show the most paying advertisements (1). So you never know how much you get paid per click! This can range from $0,01 to up to $50,- (in theory only). There are ways to get the higher paying ads, but more on that later.

I decided to test this system and followed the instruction that should make me a millionair. I made several different websites to see how much money I can earn with it.The first two months wend slowly. I needed more visitors on my websites and I spend lot's of time getting other sites to link to mine. It did costs me a lot of effort but I managed to get 100.000 hits per day, causing a bandwidth usage of 1.5GB per day (of which I received nice bills from my hosting provider). After playing a bit with layouts and positions of the ads I got a great 2.4% of my users clicking the ads. Note that this is a pretty high value! With this I manage to earn between $100 and $450 per month. I think that this can be reached by anyone, especially if you are interested enough to read this website. All it takes is a few hours per week. Only the first months take more time to get your site listed in search engines and related websites.

With $100 - $450 extra each month you can do rather nice things. You can buy a new digital camera or take your wife out to dinner. The money comes in with hardly no effort! Imagine yourself sitting on the toilet, laying in bed, earning money... But this amount of money does not make you rich at all! In fact even if you manage to get 5 times this amount you will not get rich. So forget becomming rich, start getting some extra's now!

I promised you to tell a bit more about getting the higher paying advertisements. All these paid websites tell you the same but it's so simple that when you understand the way the system works, you can figure it out yourself. I told you that advertisements are traded in an auction system. So when do you have to pay the most on an auction? When the requests are high and the offers low! In website/Google terms this means that there are few websites on a certain subject offering space for ads and that there are many advertisers willing to place ads. So if you want higher paying ads, make a website on a subject of which there are not much websites offering advertisement space and also the subject must be commercially interesting enough to place advertisements on.

I told you that I tried everything the pro's write in their expensive e-books. So I created a website about Zigbee. Zigbee is a booming new technology, there are not many private owned websites giving information on this subject and there are many compagnies offering new solutions with this technology. So it's ideal for higher value ads. This website makes between $0,50 and $1,97 per click. This is not the $50,- other websites promise you, you can imagine that the money paid per click should be earned back somehow so I do not take this 50 dollar seriously.

I also made a website about the weather in France. On this website I got many ads for all kind of hollidays in France. These ads paid only a few cents per click. There are many websites that are willing to advertise their Hotels and other holliday related things. There are also many personal/private websites about hollidays/traveling, containing Google Adsense ads.

So it's all about the subject of your website. It's all very dynamic and you should spread your chances. My advise is to create many websites about different subjects and just enjoy any dollar you get. After all you can just relax and meanwhile the money comes in!
